St. Patrick's Day 2011

Since March 8th was Brystol's due date, I thought I would be safe buying a St. Patrick's Day outfit for him or her (we didn't know it was a her when I bought it). In fact this was the only piece of clothing that I purchased for her prior to her birth in early January. Finally, St. Patrick's Day arrived and I got to dress her in it.

Steph, one of my dearest life long friends came to Vegas for the weekend so we got to see her.

Not just lucky shirts, but very lucky parents.....WOW I'm a parent!

Aunties

There are so many people that Brystol has yet to meet...including her very anxious anties! My aunts have meant the world to me, Aunt Becky and Aunt Pat, and have been a huge part of my life. I know Aunt Janae, Becky and Heather will be a special part of Brystol's life too.

Field Trip

On March 12th, the three of us took a field trip back to the hospital, St. Rose Dominican-Siena. We dropped off a thank you note to the nurse that helped on the day Brystol was born (she was amazing! In fact, every nurse and doctor that we had were so wonderful. It made being in the hospital so much easier knowing we were in good hands.) The next stop was the cafeteria. This place had special meaning to me even though I never knew where it was until after Brystol was born and I was released. Here's the story...back in October I had to be in the hospital for the first time in my life (except when I was born myself) for bleeding. While there Roman would say he was going to get something to eat and he'd be gone for a LONG time. He'd come back and say, "Oh man, that was sooooo good!" He was down there at the cafeteria just gorging himself. The food was good and cheap. Then when I was admitted in January the same thing would happen. He'd be gone for hours....eating. I think his favorite was the bacon cheeseburger. I just thought it was funny and wanted to go back TOGETHER to this place where he found comfort while I was in the hospital. So in honor of this we both got bacon cheeseburgers and ate at the cafeteria TOGETHER.

Also, while Brystol was in the NICU and we would go for our late night visits, we had to enter through the Emergency room because the front of the hospital closed at 9pm. This picture is just a reminder of visiting our little lady in the middle of the night for 10 nights faithfully!

Our 6 week CUTIE!

Walking With Cable

Cable, our faithful, friendly dog had to be put to sleep on March 10th. It was and is such a sad event in our life. Roman had had him for nearly 16 years. He blessed our lives though and we will cherish and celebrate all of the wonderful times we had with Cable. We love you little buddy!

Photo Shoot-March 7th

On March 7th, we took Brystol to the cardiologist for a follow up. She was seen in the NICU by the cardiologist and they found a slight heart murmer. At that time they decided no treatment was necessary and that it would heal on its own. At this appointment it had closed a little more, but it is still not fully closed. We go back in 6 months for another check. The doctor was confident that in that amount of time the murmer would be fully closed.
On March 10th, Brystol had another check with her pediatrician and all is well. She weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 20 and a half inches long. She's growing!

Cable meets Brystol

Roman has had Cable for around 15 years now. Unfortunately his health has deteriorated and he is unable to do most things for himself. For months, Roman was upset that Cable wouldn't be able to meet Brystol and get a picture with him. Today the two of them finally got to meet.

Brystol in February...

We just love our little girl! We take so many pictures because we don't want to miss one second.

Lil' B, as my dad calls her, spends a lot of time right here with her dad! They both enjoy the closeness.

Baby=lots of laundry!

4 Weeks Young

Lil'B and all her little friends....oops, even a big friend peeking in

Having a family is what we have prayed many years for...it finally happened. Thanks be to God!

What a MAN!

Roman found this carrier in all the stuff brought down from Aunt Becky and Aunt Janae. He put Brystol in it and was instantly hooked. You'll often find him walking around the house with her in his "papoose"

This little premie outfit from Aunt Janae didn't fit for long. It is crazy to see this picture compared to a few weeks later. She is filling out fast.

I was so scared I was going to break her! Barely 5 pounds here.

Grandma and Grandpa Sackrider with Brystol the day they left to go home. So sad that they had to leave.
